THE GREATEST COMPUTER NEWS, EVER!!!

Psion, the famous English pocket computer specialist, released a magnificent computer innovation, the 4 October 1999... And the new Psion Revo, is simply a true Revolution!
Every computer magazine, did reward the old Psion 5mx as "the absolute best pocket computer" with a great margin, even if it cost around 410 pound...

But the elegant curvy Revo - have the same main qualities, is around ONE centimetre smaller in every directions (the famous 5mx is 351cm3 and the slim Revo 223cm3) and cost only 250 pound... Psion Revo is also produced for many different languages (now in Sweden, for just 3800sek) and these prizes include tax!!
And it still have the same excellent programs (that is both very easy to use and smarter, than any competition) the same ultra fast processor and the same type of fine "notebook" keyboard... Plus an extremely clear screen, that now is good even in deep shadows and a free home base, that connect directly to a PC and charge the looong life batteries!!!

Great News... Psion did just (5 sept 2000) release the stronger version PSION PLUS with 16 MB storage memory and the exclusive Opera web browser, plus a fine WAP program... And they did at the same time reduce the very low price, on the normal model - that still have a huge 8 MB storage memory!!

Tragic News... This lovely machine is only a dream, if you want to be on the safe side... Many happy owners use it for years, without any problem BUT many other get big problems, over and over again, with the battery charging... And even with the Revo plus version... Some can't charge, for more than 20 minutes work and they may even loose memory... Yes I have this problem, so it's not just a rumour and this tragic fault, was the main reason that Psion stop making new models...
I was hoping, that some company will offer a smart "upgrade" that fix this annoying battery charging problem and maybe even made it possible to change battery, but that never happened...

You can email on the move, make and break appointments, stay in touch with friends and avoid enemies... You can even surf on the move... Write lists, letters or great books, with the keyboard... Keep control over expenses, meals and deals... And if you're feeling playful, play a game!

Forget about batteries, they’re built in and go for ages (12-14 active hours, or two normal weeks) without recharging!!

Then can I only find 4 possible improvement, of this magnificent Revo... A minor change in the agenda day view, to use 40% more of the screen space (as the old series 3 models) and make Revo the best choice, even for heavy users... Lithium batteries, that last even longer and handle "fill up" charging better... More keys... Series 5 have less keys than series 3 to make it possible to write with all fingers (if you have rather small hands) but Revo work best and rather fast, if you simply hold the machine and write with your thumbs (as with series 3) and then would it only be a lot better with five more keys, just as series 3x! Some elegant colour alternatives, for everyone who don't like white or grey machines!

Technical facts Psion Revo have the EPOC release 5 operating system (now selected by Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens, Sun, Philips, Panasonic, NTT and Sharp) the finest programs (the heart of a pocket computer) a size of only 157x79x18 mm, weight 200g with batteries, superb patented notebook style keyboard, ultra fast ARM 710 processor, 8mb work memory (that save as 16mb pc storage) new extremely clear high contrast touch-sensitive screen (so you don't need backlight) support IrDA infrared devices and work 12-14 active hours (two normal weeks) on one charge... The NiMH battery will also protect the memory for two extra weeks, even if they can't power the machine, so you may never loose any information!

The Psion Revo PLUS version, have the same data except 16 MB work memory (that save as 32mb PC storage) the exclusive Opera web browser and a fine WAP program...
