My best tip, for Psion 3c and other...

The advanced Psion programs, have many alternative options and it can be hard to find every smart way... Here you have the one I found most valuable... There are mainly for my Psion 3c and some might not work on your machine, but most Psion program work in the same way... To make it simple, have I group them, with the best tip FIRST in every group and yes, you can find almost all of this in the HUGE handbook!

The "ps" is short for Psion button, "con" is control and "/" is or...

Agenda You can open a "memo note" to every post (entry) with (ps+ the "+" button) and that is extremely handy... I very often use the post as a headline, specially in ToDo view and I have then a lot of info in the memo notes... You can also secure every memo, with an unique password... I actually use the last todo list, for telephone numbers and have then a lot of vital info, stored in the posts memos... Okay, I have a lot of numbers, but I put them sorted with the most important private number at top and the biz numbers from the bottom and I can also use the seek function... You should compress the agenda now and then (ps+k) and that's the only silly thing with Psion...

To Do I sort a lot of task for the future and some vital info, in different Todo lists... The most important biz list comes first and telephone numbers plus the most important private, comes last... And the entries are naturally sorted, with the most important at top of each list...
I have following lists: Biz task, My company, When time - home, When time - out, Handbooks, Projects, A resting project, Future projects, Don't forget, Think about this, Canaria 15 (which are moved when I use it) Travel times (with min and max times, to vital destinations) Numbers!, Check (with headlines as books, films, restaurants, countries with extra fine girls)(films I have or want to buy, is in a huge word file) Buy - home (with good prices on stuff, as first headline) Buy - div (with my economy, as first headline) Telephone (with my website, as first headline and the vital web info in the memo note)
YES, it's very easy to navigate and manage your info (see navigation below) but you should naturally set two columns, so you can see two todo list at once, with (menu) Special, set Preference, Todo view, number of lists: "2" and enter!

Navigation Agendas day view - Jump from "today" to the last day, with space bar.. Go to first / last todo list and first / last list in system view (ps+home/end) to beginning / end in a single post (up/down arrow) last post in a todo list (con+ps+down arrow) between open word files in one list (the icon you use for that list) then I have closed all other views in agenda, so I simply shift between todo and day view with the black square... Show a mini calendar in agenda, in three steps (tab, tab, tab) You can select a file in a list with down arrow OR the first letter... Open a second file in word (enter / shift+enter) see settings... Yes I use to have four to six files open all the times...

Generally I did soon move all info I may need mobile, to my Psion and almost stop syncing, between my fine (win) notebook and Psion... Yes, I simply write everything I need mobile, directly in my Psion and stuff I need to print, on my notebook... I have collected a huge mass of info (for future books, films and my other interests) in my Psion and it's work great, I very seldom have to move stuff between my notebook and my Psion, except for backups... I don't use my Psion for email or web stuff, because I need a big screen and the info in my "base" letters... But I simply don't need to check my mail more than two times, every day and I can't anyhow afford a holiday, before I get some good export...
The file limits in word is 40kb and a memo note 4kb - but you can make new columns (or lists) of word files, in the system view and I have seven, arranged in different categories... Go system icon, move to the list you want at right (menu, special, create new list) give it a new directory name "\w2\" extension "wrd" icon "default" type "word processor" and a name...
You can minimize the big "side menu" in two steps with (con+menu, con+menu) and change size of the letters (ps+z) in four steps...
I never use jotter, I keep the last or most important word files open (plus naturally agenda) and write down stuff in the beginning of some file (or press space and in today view) if I am in a hurry, then I have to move the stuff to the right place and don't get a lot of stuff left in jotter...

My settings System icon (menu) special, set preference, update: "Auto" open "Enter" (otherwise will you close the last open file when you open another one, in a list) font: "Roman" (more easy to read) System icon (menu) control, auto switch off "on" System icon (menu) control, evaluate format "general" System icon (menu) control, printer, unit: "centimetre" Finally have I rearrange the icons, with jotter for agenda and data - word - agenda, for the three most important word lists!

Word I have a contents list, in the beginning of many word files, type for films: The films I want to buy 2*Orders 3*My videodisc & dvd 5*For sale 6*Copies 7*Great scenes 8*Bad films I seen... And I simply seek on *2-19 which always will be unique... Mark and make fat letters (con+bb) cursive (con+ii) normal (con+nn)
